saving multiple strings of text to be added to multiple file names

can i make a list of all text strings and save them that i want to add to multiple file names and then process in batch mode all files and add text strings that i have saved applied one by one to all the file names. e.g.
textstring1
textstring2

filename1
filename2

to result in

filename1-textstring1
filename1-textstring2
filename2-textstring1
filename2-textstring2

It can load a list of filenames from a file.
