Let's imagine I have set of files named this way:
spring_002
spring_004
spring_007
summer_003
summer_005
summer_011
And I want to load them all at once to Advanced Renamer, then get them renumbered consequently in each subset:
spring_001
spring_002
spring_003
summer_001
summer_002
summer_003
I think currently this is not possible. Can there be implemented feature of renumbering allowing to restart renumbering from the beginning when changes some pattern, which is positioned relatively to number in filename?

Me too...

Add numbering <Inc Hex:1>
at the end of the file, but when the base filename changes, then numbering
to start from 01 again.

so indeed, desired results:
filename-xyz-01.jpg
filename-xyz-02.jpg
filename-xyz-03.jpg
filename-xyz-04.jpg
filename-abc-01.tst
filename-abc-02.tst
filename-abc-03.tst

However, AFAIK, the current situation is like this:

filename-xyz-01.jpg
filename-xyz-02.jpg
filename-xyz-03.jpg
filename-xyz-04.jpg
filename-abc-05.tst
filename-abc-06.tst
filename-abc-07.tst

Thanks!

Hi, this is a lot more difficult with this software and can be done using the "Script Module". I've spent the last hour setting this up for you. Copy and paste this code from pastebin into the Script Module box and press the Apply button.

This is assuming that all filenames end with _XXX (x represents a random number), and will not work for _XXXX.

We just need to modify one line of code for them to work with your type of files:
