Hi,
I have 800 video files that need to be renamed that are all numerical, but all the files are out of numerical order, so I was hoping to use this program to rename them all in the right order. However the files were all exported from my editing software in the right order, so everything is in the right order if I sorted it by date modified. But because the name's are all out of order, in the program it's renaming the wrong files.

So I could rename them correctly if it would rename by date modified instead of by name. Is it possible?

Thanks!

Once you drag all your files into the program, right click on the column header and add the column called "date modified". Then click on that field and all your files will sort and be ready for renaming.

Also if you right-click on the file list there is a "Sort by" option. The "Pattern..." option then allows you to sort the files based on any combination of tags - although apparently only in ascending order.

This recently-added feature doesn't appear to be documented in the User Guide but you can find it on the "What's new" page (Version 3.83, 20. aug. 2018): www.advancedrenamer.com/whatsnew
