In the settings.ini
i have found absolute paths for [Advanced Renamer] DefaultBatchMethodFolder=X:\ARenv3.50\BatchMethods\ and [recent_methodlists] item0000=X:\ARenv3.50\BatchMethods\my.aren --- I think they should be stored relative to the folder of the ARen.exe. For example: X:\ARenv3.50\BatchMethods\my.aren is stored as item0000=X:\ARenv3.50\BatchMethods\my.aren If i now rename my folder to e.g. v3.52, because i had updated the exe, or copy my data folder over to an new version to keep my settings, the setings.ini still search my BatchMethod in v3.50 and so can't load them. --- If the paths were stored relative there were no problem. [Advanced Renamer] DefaultBatchMethodFolder=BatchMethods\ and [recent_methodlists] item0000=BatchMethods\my.aren That's better for portable use on USB-drives too where the drive letter is indented to change. |

The idea is good but I don't know if ti will result in problems. I have put it on my task list and will take a look at it at some time in the future. |

FYI I have moved my portable Aren 3.52 folder to an other pc, now this settings points to an not existing path: DefaultBatchMethodFolder= InitialOpenDir= FolderPanelPath= and on start of Aren i get: --------------------------- Advanced Renamer --------------------------- Das System kann das angegebene Laufwerk nicht finden. (some thing like: The system can not find the given path ) --------------------------- OK --------------------------- ################# Also the methode list from [methoddefset] is not loaded. My methods on the left are empty ################# And on adding file(s) i get [Window Title] Error [Content] Cannot add files. You cannot load more than 0 items into the list. [OK] (don't know is this is related, but i never seen this before) ################ On closing Aren i get --------------------------- Advanced Renamer --------------------------- Access violation at address 007E4F97 in module 'ARen.exe'. Read of address 00000000. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- ############## I renamed the settings.ini, and now i can work with ARen again. _ |
