Adding Artist/Album title to files.

Hello,

I'm sorry if I'm being completely stupid, but is there any way to add artist and album information to files?

I can add the columns for artist and albums, but can not seem to change the information: i.e. Select files and add artist or album info to many files. I can only change the file name.
