Advanced Renamber v4.16 takes long to start
v4.15 = 0 to 1 seconds
v4.16 = 3 to 4 seconds

Because of the metadata writer feature added in version 4.16, the program has to communicate more with Exiftool at bootup. That is the lag you see, and you are right, it is much slower. I have a slow laptop I use for testing sometimes, and it goes from 0.7 to 4.7 seconds, which is not acceptable. I know how to fix this, so that it will only take a long time to boot the first time after installing a new version. I will release the fix within a day.

I have uploaded an update fixing the issue. It will now only be slow on first run. It is version 4.16.1, but note, it will in some places identify as 4.16.

In the user guide you can click the link "Display in one page" and print the whole thing to a PDF.
