I never got it working either and a mail to KJ didnt solve anything, maybe he forgot to answer.
Anyway, i only got server communicating error when trying to register my key and error sending data when trying to import tv-shows etc.
This happened on all the version from 3.84 and up to the newest 3.88.
I got it working again on the old 3.83, so i guess im sticking with that one.
