Help! Rename Files to specific number
Hi, I have a bunch of video files with unique name that I want to rename them to specific numbers that are listed in CSV file
This is a few lines inside the CSV file
KpE2rnVtx,1
DKfJn74DF,2
2vsBEaNNIO,3
fhRbXopdA,4
OMZgeZ5oV,5
Current name -> New name
KpE2rnVtx -> 1
DKfJn74DF ->2
2vsBEaNNIO ->3
fhRbXopdA ->4
OMZgeZ5oV ->5
Thank you so much

Hello LTT!
Suppose you had a file filefoo.csv in the folder C:\mycatpics that had this content:
KpE2rnVtx.jpg,1
DKfJn74DF.jpg,2
2vsBEaNNIO.jpg,3
fhRbXopdA.jpg,4
OMZgeZ5oV.jpg,5
Note that the file extension is present, paths are optional and column headers are optional.
Per your example, there is no obvious sort order.
Aren is setup to handle this easily
Use the menu Add -> Import -> Files from CSV
. . . Filename: C:\mycatpics\filefoo.csv
. . . Base folder for original files: C:\mycatpics
. . . Delimiter: ,
. . . First line is header: [leave blank]
. . . Column for original filename: 1
. . . Column for new filename: (optional): 2
That's it! Press the import button and then you will see the filenames replaced with the desired numbers. Merely run the batch to make it take effect.
ETA: WARNING!: Just after you import the files, a "List" replace method will appear in the left-hand column. You probably want this method's "Apply to:" set to "Name", not "Name and extension".
Regards,
Randy
