Issue with .TXT or .CSV files created by ARen

On my Win11 system, ARen is able to create txt o csv files, but is unable to open the same files. The following error message appears: No mapping for the Unicode character exists in the target
multi-byte code page.

Notepad and Excel open these files correctly, and the same files saved by Notepad are loaded correctly by Aren.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Populate the filename list
2) Save the list as TXT or CSV file
3) Clear the filename list
4) Load the saved file

That should of course work, but I might have forgotten a character set check. I will take a look.

Same here... no joy. Both 3.94 and .95
I have discovered that the problem arises when the list of filenames contains special characters such as ñ, è, î, etc. Furthermore, non-standard characters such as Cyrillic, Asian, or others are not recognised, resulting in question marks in the saved text file.

I am awaiting the fixed build and I hope that this issue can be easily resolved.

Hi Styb,

I got the same error and I don't have any of those types of characters in my filenames.

Hello, I have run a number of tests on my system and the problem with the txt or csv files only occurs when I use a filename that contains special characters.

So it seems to be clear that the problem depends on a number of things, not just special characters.
Any news? I just reproduced this issue in the new release of ARen, 3.95 release 3.

Yes, you are right. I have not worked on this yet. I expect it available for the 4.0 release, where it will be possible to choose which codepage to use when exporting and importing CSV and TXT files.

Check out version 3.95 release 4. Is the problem solved for you in this release?
Hello, I have installed the release #4 on my system and I do not have any problem with the use of the TXT files.

The problem occurs when using the CSV files, as in previous versions of the ARen.
