In the past I always used image tags as follows:
<Img Year>-<Img Month>-<Img Day>_<Img Hour><Img Min> And this gave me file names like: 2020-06-24_1714.dng I would append the files with a number to prevent collisions. Today I opened AR and this tag structure no longer works. I can't read anything from the image tags. I don't think I changed anything as far as settings. Any ideas? |

Hi, you need to use the tags from ExifTool, because ARen does not support raw image tags, such as dng, cr2, nef etc. Read e.g. this post https://www.advancedrenamer.com/forum_thread?for um_id=11093 |

How bizarre! I've got hundreds of raw files that had been changed in the past. I even used to do file pairs, which is an option, when I took one raw and one jpeg, it named them both the same just with the different extensions. Here's a screenshot of my files showing some renamed files: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Al-KdeGpAUUchbEOCNQXJslmb-PN aw That's too bad, because the exif data really has too much info in the date field. I don't need the seconds, and being picky, I'm not crazy about the underscore and prefer dashes. |

So what's the problem? Just use the basic functionality of the application to remove the seconds and change the separator! |

I guess I didn't explain properly. That basic functionality isn't working anymore, and I was looking for a fix. |

... and I have suggested a fix! Check your settings and make sure that nothing has changed. Also make sure that the files actually contain the metadata you are expecting, Regarding pair renaming - Advanced Renamer will only recognize file pairs when the filenames are identical apart from the extensions - that is not true for any of the pairs in your example screenshot. For example: in the "pair" "52 weeks _1433-02..." the two filenames are "52 weeks _1433-02" and "52 weeks _1433-02.JPG". Everything before the FINAL dot is part of the base filename. |
