Command line parameters

I build a routine to rename my pictures base on a <given name>-<date>-<RndNumberScript>.
Would it be possible to provide the renaming engine with <Given name> as a command line argument that I could then use in my renaming process? Maybe something along the lines of <CmdLineArg1> that I could use in NewName or other similar functions.
