I upgraded from v3.95 to v4.03 and the thumbnail previews are gone. I hope it can be added back as a standalone column instead of being tied to Filename column like in v3.95

The thumbnail preview was not added to version 4. The preview might be readded for some file formats on Windows, but I don't think I can get it working on Mac. I don't expect the thumbnail list view to return.

Aw, that was the main thing that made "renumber" useful IMO, after Windows stopped letting you rearrange files with no auto-sorting you could at least still do it here, then make the filenames match the preferred order for alpha sort. Much tougher without seeing which is which. But I only have to do that once in a great while, so I hadn't noticed it missing in this interface. How far do I need to roll back to get fully rearrangeable thumbnails again? It sounds like 3.95 was only capable of doing them as column headers in a "list view" which is better than nothing, but not as good as the "tiles" style used to be..
Preview was never much use for aligning names for my purposes, given that you can only see one at a time it becomes more like a game of "Memory" and barely any more efficient than just opening each file individually. So yeah, I think I want to go back, if there are even still old enough versions here to get that function again...

Thanks for the attempt, but it looks like that site just linked back to the downloads section of this one, rather than hosting the files themselves, and now has dead links since that version is older than the oldest one still available here. But I was just hoping to have an answer on "what's the *newest* version that still had thumbnail support?" Not sure what that answer would be, but I tried the oldest one here, and 3.90 did still have full thumbnail view, so its portable version without having to mess with v4's installation, seems fine for my needs. It's good enough for my smallish jobs, even if it turns out I could have gone up to 3.93 or whichever. I'm satisfied with it at least.

Hi guys,

The version 3.94 portable has the thumbnail grid view.

EDIT: Looking at the version log there seem to be a number of reliability and formatting fixes and upgrades between 3.90 and 3.94. But I've used all the versions over the years and haven't had many problems with most any of them after about 3.87.

Best,
DF
