Missing Extension

I use 4.04p (and checked it in 4.03p). I have seen the forum entry with the space at the end of the <Model> tag. The "rename" workaround with the <ExifTool:Model> doesn't work for most of my image files, so I'm forced to the <Model> tag. But with the space at the end of the filename the program forgets to set the extension. I can set the "Apply to" to "name and extension" or "name" without any difference.
I work with renaming, then in a second batch I add the desired extension, but this causes problems with paired files.
What is the recommended way to work while the problem isn't solved?

Kim just dropped a new version, 4.05. It's the fix to the problem, so give it a try.
