Version 3.95, Windows
Timestamps inside files are no longer being updated. I have used this feature for years in my workflow. It's important to have this fixed, please. In the left pane "Renaming List method", under the Timestamp card, the 'filename pattern' radio is checked, with the pattern "<Year>_<Month>_<Day> <Hour>_<Min>_
". There might be a problem with the regex code. The root cause lies in the fact that this feature operates seamlessly when the file name perfectly matches the text in the "pattern" field, such as "2024_06_30 10_07_32.jpg". However, when there is trailing text, the feature fails to modify timestamps, as seen in "2023_11_10 16_03_50 - We Got Tamarack.jpg". |

I downloaded and installed older versions of AR and problem persists. I suspect a tool that AdvancedRenamer uses is failing. Any ideas? |

I must confess that I have never used this method. I have renamed two files using your examples and haven´t any problems. Capture: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16cOlcITaM_baHpC vChuQ1Xd00fgA2jzf/view?usp=drive_link You can see the capture of the Aren screen and the screen of windows explorer. Using 4.05 version Miguel |

Works for me on 4.06... are you refreshing the screen in explorer or whatever after the rename? If I don't refresh the screen File Exlorer still shows the old date. You probably already know that, but just checking. EDIT: I've been thinking about your problem. You may want to try doing system file scans for corruption. SFC and DISM might be good to run, just to check that you don't have system file corruption that might prevent updating your file timestamps. I just recently used SFC to fix a persistent and irritating problem with my taskbar and Windows key. Worked like a charm. There's plenty of online information about using them. Best, DF |

Thanks Miguel for investigating and uploading a screen shot. I've used this feature for years successfully. And now all versions of AREN have this bug. Consequently I suspect it's some piece of software underneath AREN, perhaps a broken version of exiftool maybe? |

Hi DF, yes I refreshed explorer after using this AREN feature. And my antivirus scans daily successfully. Thanks for prompting. Still digging. |
