Another request from me ;)
I mostly rename several thousand files at once and after I added them I sometimes get the message that some files could not be added. It would be really helpfull to know which ones, so I don't have to search after renaming which ones aren't renamed. Filename that could not be added would be enough for me to know.
Would be great and thanks for your great programm!
Nice Weekend, Luna

Well, I have similar problem. I cannot add the problematic file (mp3). My old friend File Commander FCW shows the filename and replaces illegal characters with ???. When I try to rename the file it complains about invalid filename. Windows explorer crashes immediately and ask if I want to send a report. Advanced Renamer under add file shows the file with illegal characters as squares but then it says 1 file cannot be added.
Is there a workaround ?

Thank's

One more thing.
If the first character is valid, can the file be added using only the first character with all the other removed or are you using some dll from microsoft to read filenames?

Maybe I should try Linux or Mac?

It sounds like this file has a name consisting of unicode characters which is not supported at the moment. Another possibility is that the file contains illegal characters. It is possible but very rare.
