Hello,
I just upgraded to Version 3.12 of advanced renamer in a windows 7 pc, when I try to make any change I am getting this error "error 101" Error Unknown, Can you please tell me what this error means and if it can be fixed? Thank you in advance |

Advanced Renamer tries to figure out why a file might not be renamed correctly. When there is no indication of not being able to rename a file and it still can't be renamed the Unknwn Error message is displayed. This is most oftens means that the file is in use or is located in a folder where you don't have write access, like on a cd-drive or in the program files folder. |

Hello, I jsut tried this out and got the same problem. If i try to rename the folder while the renamer is open i get access denied, file is in use error. if i close the renamer i can rename the fodler by hand. its happening to 25% of the files i want to rename :) i am doing this on an 2003 server and i have full ownership/access to the files. |

You cannot rename a folder when a file in the folder or a child folder is in use by a program. There might be other circumstances where you cannot rename a folder due to similar issues. This is normal Winodws behavior. |
