Renameing a file

Hi,

I have a bunch of files that have the following format that I’m trying to rename but need a little help.

The files are named as follows:
Artist—Title.nnnnnn-nn.nn.wav
If the artist or title contains a space the space is replaced with an underscore. The number length is not fixed.

I need the format as follows:
Artist – Title.wav
The” –“ and underscore is easy to deal with using the replace function, however I’m struggling with getting rid of the number after the '.' after the title.
I can get rid of the number totally but this also removes any numbers that are part of the title.

Any help would be appreciated.
