We have 26k PDF files missing meta data required for our new Search Appliance.
We want to make changes to the fields under the document properties: Title, Author, Subject, Keywords Can someone provide me the steps to: 1. Change the Author field of all PDFs to the same name (so all, whether they are blank or have author initials or whatever would change to 'ABC Company') 2. Change the Title to the filename 3. Manually add the Subject and Keywords Example: BEFORE: Filename: ArtsSpringGuide Title: Microsoft Word - Arts_Spring_Guide Author: user14 Subject: Keywords: AFTER: Filename: ArtsSpringGuide Title: ArtsSpringGuide Author: ABC Company Subject: Arts Spring Guide for 2018 (manually entered) Keywords: spring guide, arts guide, 2018 guide (manually entered) Can I use the ExifTool for these document properties? Does anyone have something written for something similar? Thanks! |

Sorry Stephanie, wrong forum, we do rename file names, not content. |

Well, 26k of documents is a real thing, had never tried anything with more than 1k simultaneously. And when I did, I uploaded that number of them to this editor https://form-cd-401s.pdffiller.com/ selected them all and gave the same property values. Somebody mentioned here that it's also possible to do through the script written manually, maybe it would be a better option for you with such a purpose
